Two things that don't work in Steam after updates

Recently, after Steam completed their most recent update, I am having two issues with Steam. Well, one is with Steam and the other is with Counter Strike Source, but still is related to Steam. One is sometimes Steam won't start up. I'll double click on it and absolutely nothing will happen. It's in the task manager and I've even ended the process and then re-launched it, but same thing happens. I have to end up un-installing and re-installing the damn thing, which gets to be pretty frustrating when you have to do it every three or four times you use it. I have a legit bought and paid for copy, so there is no issue there.

The other thing is in Counter Strike Source where I cannot add anybody to the friends list. After connecting to a server and getting in game, I go to list of players and sure enough they are there. Also present are the buttons, add player to friends list and mute player. However, the add player button is gray and unusable. Neither can I manually add them. Whenever I go to try to add them manually by typing in their Steam User ID, I get the message that the Steam User ID cannot be found. I know they are case sensitive and I type it in correctly. One user told me that some people's Steam was screwed up after they did that last major update.

Anybody have any solutions? Thanks.

I assume nobody knows the answer to this and/or has never had this problem since no one is responding to this thread.:flame:
