1. As I'm still unclear as to the legality of Valve making HL2 playable over Steam before it's released in stores...what's to stop them from unlocking it to those people who preorder on Steam the day it goes gold? Besides there own choice to make it"fair" to retail customers, do we know yet if they are allowed to unlock it before it ships to stores? Seeing as people will have already paid on Steam for it, it seems as if they would be allowed to unlock it as soon as it's gold.

2. If the November 23 release date does end up being truth, I'm gonna be really pissed. I don't know what percentage of the market is made up of college students, but I do know that many college students, such as myself, will be home over Thanksgiving, and will not have their PCs home with them. I do realize this is probably a stupid complaint, but I don't know, seems somewhat relevant to myself and possibly quite a few others.

There may be something in the agreement between Valve and VUG regarding the release and availability of HL2.

Also, maybe take your comptuer home with you if you want to play HL2 during Thanksgiving? I know that I could not get away with playing video games during the Holiday.

thats something that i totally dont' get. cs:source is hl2's multiplayer, but they're releasing it early. how can that work with their contract with vivendi if they can't release hl2 before its out in stores.

...

exactly...if they're making CS:S available...then, something tells me they can make HL2 available, also.
