types of ram

I'm planning on getting new memory for the computer I'm building. The computer cpu will be an athlon 64 fx-53 socket 939 with an asus motherboard. What kinds of ram would be best for this AMD based computer? Should I just get PC3200 DDRI ram? Also, what's the best brand type? Some choose corsair, others choose kingston, but they seem the same to me

PC3200 are fine. Corsair,Kingston,Kushkin and OCZ are very good brands.

They are indeed quite good brands. Some are just better for OCing and such. For typical use, it shouldn't make too much difference which type of RAM you buy.
