hey, has anyone else gotten these things that sort of appear when you are looking at whatever?

I mean like these weird and luminous dots that flicker in your vision for an instant and then disappear rapidly or instantaneously if you look in another direction.

i'm worried, i had this before some years ago and somehow it's returned. i think this might be caused by overwork, too much reading/ looking at the computer for large amounts of time... er... what's a good method of dealing with this and stop harming my eyes?

well first thing i would do, (because i have never had this) is go see an eye doctor right away. The last thing you want to do is mess your eyes up and not know why.

I've had this since b4 I can rmember, it's usually when i'm really stressed.

Don't sweat it, it's not that big of a deal.

Dude.. I'm having these too. In fact, alot of people I've spoken with have also seen them.. It's kind of spooky, something that seems to be starting to happen lately. Aliens obstructing our vision to invade? :O

They're like instantaneous tiny white or sometimes blue dots appearing and disappearing, sometimes they move a little..

I've had that before yeah. It happened once a couple of years ago. For me it was like glitter or something. Lots of silver sparkly things across my vision.

:|

I only have blue spots on my vision if I've been looking directly at a really bright light (AKA welding torch and/or sun)

I had those once. It's like looking at stars or something. The real weird thing is that little dot in your left eye that follows your sight around.

Well, what sorts of things are you talking about? Are you talking about large singular vision dots that can be caused by looking at bright objects such as the sun or lights, which will stay with your vision for a while before dissapating(depending on how long you looked, etc. Or are you talking about similiar effects that can be caused by putting alot of pressure on your eyes either by holding them shut real tight, or getting in a fit of rage and rushing all the blood to your head and eyes.

Or.... are you talking about "floaters", which I like to think of as little amoebas floating through my vision(I think they're the same thing) sometimes.

http://www.amasci.com/freenrg/tors/floaters.html

Well I'm talking about something similar to when you hold your eyes tight for a while...but its not quite the same.

I've experienced both the floaters talked about on that site and the thing where you sit up too fast after sitting for a while and stretch, so the blood goes to your head and you grey out for a minute.

There are also things called "tracers" which are essentially natural hallucinations - usually you just see a color out of the corner of your eye that really isn't there; tracers happen more or less depending on the person. Drugs like LSD give you massive tracers.

Have any of you ever laid down in bed, closed your eyes, and have been able to create all sorts of vivid colors and shapes out of these colors that rapidly change and distort, as if they were dancing across the back of your eyelids?

I have been able to do this quite often, and it's rather neat. Hehe. Not sure if there's any documentation on this sort of thing, but i'd love to read about it if there is!

Yep, try shrooming sometime, it's like that but a thousand times more intense. And safe, as drugs go. /drug stuff. I like when you rub your eyes with them closed in a dark room, and it's like a checkerboard all twisted and distorted that sort of moves around... quite cool!

lol, for the love of god, will you guys stop trying to tell me to do drugs! lol

No amount of peer pressure will ever make me do drugs.

i was sort of talking of those glitchy things that flicker around, somewhat like those when you stand up real fast after sitting on the couch for a time, just a lot less cluttered and a lot smaller.

i've also had those that raziaar says, especially these "green" donuts that are purple in the middle, and then the green donut contracts, followed by a purple donut, etc. weird. i'm such a psycho.

Hehe, I don't want you to do drugs. I was sort of speaking rhetorically when I said "try shrooming"... either way, I know what you mean. And way to never do drugs - that takes real willpower and I respect you for it.

So, your thoughts on eye thingies?

Good for seeing things. Sometimes bad for seeing things you don't want to.

Like the Three Horrors of the Internet. I'm sure you can guess at least two of them :|

Death, illegal porn, rabid liberals?

HAHAHA. I'm just kidding! Don't hang me.

They told me to kill the man with 2 arms... How many arms do you want!?!

Why would you come to a video game forum before seeing a doctor?

What's worse is when all the blood rushes to your head and you fall to the ground fighting for survival.
Those days are worse.

Must be all those damn weird spots in your vision that led you to kill the wrong guy.

"Is that him? Well, he's got the outline of the guy, but I can't quite make him out with all these spots. Must be him though!"

That must be it...

/me spoons out eyes from my face and douses them in soapy water

I get little floaters that are kinda clearish when I look at bright things, I found out what they were after doing some net reasearch and there is really nothing you can do about them.

Do you mean those weird "circles" that group together.. in sort of a line?

If that's what it is I get the EXACT same thing.

I normally get odd stars everywhere I look when I have a very bad headache.. Weeeee I can see the colors.

kinda looks like lines or strands or branches or something clear moving and very small, they are actually dust type particles in the jelly in the center of your eye, or arteries being reflected from the light shining inside your eyeball either way they can be hella annoying. I have the dust inside my eye and the doc cant do nothin :burp:

I got punched in the right in the eye and I saw something similar to those for a few weeks, and since I did not go to the doctor my right eye's vision sucks now.

They are real ghosts coming to get you1!!!11112hfehagseventy-fivepointsix

Is ghosts what you meant?

I get them if I close my eyes tightly enough, but I think if you get them regularly or in a worrying way, best to check it with a doctor.

I believe they have some sciencey name, something like phosphorescence or similar.

If I focus at nothing... just staring at something then I'll see these little spots flying by and dissapearing. At first I thought you meant the blind spots you get when you're about to get a migraine - now that's ****ing horrible!
Well, I think everybody has those spots flying around, they're not just aware of it... maybe we CAN see atoms...Oh my titty ****ing Christ!

Those little spots are entirely different to the luminous (phosphor?) ones aren't they? I get them too, noticed them a lot when I was young but rarely pay attention anymore.

I was just under the impression they are bubbles of air in the tear fluid on the surface of the eyeball.

You guys are all crazy. I'd see an optometrist or something. Vision is one thing I do not f*ck around with.
