I seem to be having a hard time with my Xbox ever since I got Halo 3.
Just now, I believe I've had a major hardware failure, only instead of 3 of the lights flashing, it's only one. Strange... It's just the third quadrant flashing with a red light, anyone know what it means? Anyways, as well, my Saints Row AND Halo 3 disc have both been scratched, Halo 3 only minorly (I can't play the last level anymore, though.) And Saints Row was pretty much dented, (Can that even happen to a disc? WTF?) and is done for. Anyway, I'm letting it cool down right now, and unplugged everything. Oh, and it says E 74 on the screen.

Freaking Xbox. Why does technology hate me so?

Horizontal, but only recently.
I just sent an email to Xbox support. Which, likely will take awhile to do.

Hmm. Because when a 360 is vertical only some of the disk bumpers are used. Then again, 360's have a 33% failure rate.

Did you ever move the console during gameplay? That would likely explain the scratches and dents.

Maybe...

Did you ever violently shake it / throw it during gameplay? That might explain why everything ****ed up.

My 360 is on the verge of dying on me too. I don't have the "three rings of death" problem, but the machine has been having a real hard time with reading discs lately. That black screen telling me that my drive cannot read the discs, has been coming up far too often these days, and it's only a matter of time before it breaks for good.

At least the repairs should be free.
