UK bans PlayStation 'chipping'

The selling of "mod chips" for Sony PlayStation 2 game consoles has been ruled illegal by a UK high court.

Sony brought its case against a man called David Ball who was accused of selling about 1,500 "Messiah" mod chips.

I never use a console now days so...
 
I read this article a few days, I don't quite understand it since I thought it was actually already illeagal.
 
Who cares if it's illegal? People are still going to do it, and the police aren't exactly going to do spot checks on people's PS2's.

they are tryna stop people from selling the chips, not installing rofl.. btw it wasnt illegal before.
