News report here
I think these were localised pretty much to my town, when we got a months worth of rain in the space of an hour... and on top of that, it had been raining heavily for the past 2 days (something like 2 months worth of rain in the previous days) so the ground wasnt ready for this onslaught of rain.
Some weird stuff happened that i've never seen before in my life. My road turned into a river for over an hour. Loads of places got totally flooded, and there were loads of accidents on the roads with cars sliding into each other.
There was even an incident in Lindley (not far up the road) where a car was entirely submerged in floodwater (so I guess thats a write-off). It wasnt till the water drained away later that night to reveal the car, stuck in a few foot of mud. Nice.

Anyone else experience this, or was it just us northerners?
