I just recently heard that the Index chain stores have collapsed. This concerns me as I work in the Preston store. However I only travel to Preston over the weekends as I'm at University at Liverpool, I would like to know which stores have been effected (if not all of them).

Unfortunately, my manager doesn't have my term phone number and my mobile just doesn't work anymore.

It looks like all Index stores that are inside Littlewoods (including mine) will be given back to Littlewoods as a whole.

Index stores on their own will be bought by GUC and Argos.

It looks like bad luck for me

Anyway, I'll proberbly go looking for a job at Argos, if they have enough jobs going.

It doesn't necessarily help in the last 10 weeks of University, clearly puts a dagger in my spending habits.

My Index store will be converted to a Littlewoods store, and I'm not selling clothes

Argos > Index ... I can't see any news about Index 'collapsing' though, where did you find out? Maybe it's not true... I'm pretty certain that if it was anything major, it would be headline news.

It was on Skynews this morning as well as Radio City, also found the article which is just above.

I thought you meant some kind of earthquake that only targeted Index stores.

I've never been in an Index, don't know anyone who works in an Index, or anyone who has ever worked in an Index, so this doesn't really bother me too much.

Littlewoods and Index are both managed by different managers (including the one in Fishergate). Index cannot interfere with Littlewoods and vice versa. That occured about year ago and I wasn't entirely sure if Index was still owned by Littlewoods, I just believed we rented their space.

I did see this coming, but not at least for another 6 months.

By the way, do I know you Pi Mu Rho I know you live somewhere in Preston, but thats about it?
