Ever heard of Ultima VI?
:thumbs: It's only the best RPG ever created! :thumbs:
A game from 1990, with a huge HUGE world, magic, boats, monsters, dragons, dungeons, cyclops,... You can bake your own bread, forge your own sword, milk cows, interact with almost everything, ... basically anything you'd want in a role playing game. The only drawback being the graphics that look ... dated ... to say the least. Don't expect fancy special effects (at all), it's a good old fashion 2D view from the top game. The story and game emphasis is something you'll never find in any other game, moral values called "Virtues" playing a major role.
A couple of people put their head together and came up with the idea to transform it into a MORPG. If you can look over the dated graphics, you'll find a superb game with a deep story and fun gameplay. It's a work in progress, but the current release has fixed all major issues, is stable, and the gameworld is entirely there for your pleasure, with quests, sacred quests, level-up/experience system, optional npc party members.
Remember, this is a game revolving around virtues, so you'd better not steal or you'll end up dead pretty quick.

Looks very promessing, there's a demo available, and they state the releasedate is in may, probably dureing E3.

Ultima Exult 3D
This is a thread in the exult forums that shows off how they intend to use the actual Ultima VII engine and modify it to render a 3D world on top of it. It's literally the same game, except in 3D.
If you need more/specific info, there are tons of fansites out there to google and find.
