It looks better than any G 'n G game has ever looked--the animations and level/character designs look amazing--and also will incorporate one really awesome gameplay mechanic, along with other neat ones like grabbing onto cliffs and other new techniques/weapons/magic. I won't say what the one absurdly cool new mechanic is, but just watch the very end of the trailer for the awesomeness.

Here's the trailer.

Im hoping it comes to other consoles, I for one loved the old Ghouls and ghosts, ghosts and goblins games.

This is the one game i'm tempted to pick up a PSP for - it looks amazing :)

Ghouls and Ghosts for the SNES is probably the second hardest game I have ever played, right after Ninja Gaiden on XBOX.

Hopefully they'll tone down the difficultly a little, I just can't get into games that are so absurdly difficult.

I know! It looks great and the difficulty made it hard but didn't detract from the fun which was nice.

So what does anyone think of the crazy bit at the end of the video??? Its a great idea and I don't know why it hasn't been done before! (At least, not to my knowledge).

Looks awesome. I really enjoyed the classic a lot. Any idea if its comming to the DS or possibly any other consoles?

Ghost and goblins. I ****ing LOATHED that game for NES. It was one of the most ****ing hard games I ever played back then.

and Victim o' Science, I like the little bit at the end, love the fact you can get diff armor, more weapons and magic too... awesome... hope it comes out for other consoles/pc though, Im not about to buy a PSP for one game.
Agreed. A port would be ace. But that twist at the end of the vid has me dying to see what happens next! ;)

Yea, the orginal version on NES was even more difficult and was too hard for me, I couldn't get far. I like games that are challenging but this just wasn't ****ing cool. Don't even bother putting a quarter in the arcade machine you won't get to play very long.

EDIT: actually I don't know if I had played this on NES, now I remember it being for the Genesis. One of the things that made it so hard is that if you get hit once you died. That was before what seemed like Nintendo had invented the "heart container" style hearts like HP that nearly every game to this day has used since. Old school gamers like my oldest brother doesn't seem to like games with HP.

I do love that game Asteriods :)

The new gameplay dynamic that they have added to this one regarding this issue is just one of the things that makes this new one look so cool. (See the end of the video to see what I mean.) ;)
