its still there but I didn't delete it and steam is too busy for me to redownload atm.

Reckon this is just my PC? (not in CS:S forum because of lawsuites etc)

speculate :)

this might have something to do with the lawsuits, RC etc... but yeah...
stick it in here thanks...

i watched the same a few hours ago... it was still in my steamapps folder but steam says it's not there... i've downloaded it again, now all is going
right. strange thing

Yeah same thing happened to me, my cs:s cache was deleted when I was restarting steam, maybe its because of that update but luckily I had copy of that cache so I didn't need to download it again, it has disappeared few times now. I would've been pissed off if I wouldn't have that cache because I have ISDN and its crappy to d/l big files.

I advice people to back up the gcf's after every update, that way you won't have to download everything if Steam decides to poop on your shoe one day.(Never happened to me, but comes in handy after a reformat)

I wouldn't mind that, I have cable.

but it still won't d/l

i have the EXACT problem. steam updated and cs:s got uninstalled lol. and now i cant even download hl2's 4th preload, as it tries to validate my files when i click continue, and the window comes up but then closes down. cmon valve wtf have you done???!!!

you have to restart your preload, the systems to busy for me atm so I can't say wether I can't either.

my cs:s wouldnt update or start whent he last update came around, so i deleted it with the hope that i could redownload it straight away... that was last week and Steam hasn't let me redownload it yet. Although the status says it has plenty of bandwidth. :(

Ah i think valve have set a secret level where they'll stop more downloads/preloads on the system, giving enough bandwidth to people to sign in and play but not to download large files. Anyone else think this?
