Unable to display brackets around crosshairs

The five dots display but regardless of console commands, the brackets
never appear.

you might be missing the file for it... i belive its a font... more or less... try verifying your game cache...

edit: how far into the game are you? you dont get the brackets till you get the crowbar, and... is it a legit copy?

It is a legit copy and the file is there in the resource directory.
I forgot to mention its in deathmatch, I havent tried the single player.

How exactly do I verify my game cache?

Open your games menu. Right click the game in question. Properties. Local Files. Verify integrity of game cache.

Did a reintall of deathmatch and that didnt work, either. Guess I'll reinstall the whole thing, awesome more reasons to pay $ for games.
