Hey guys how ya doin!?
Okie doke,
First things first, I have played Half life 2 already....but sometimes it freezes or just stops responding... I have had my 9800 XT for a while... I just reformated my computer 2 days ago cuase it crashed (DOH!) so i had started HL2 with the drivers from ATI's Catalyst CD (retail) ...it works, but i HL2 seems to want to freeze or just stop responding...so i tried to update teh drivers again according to ATI's RADEON family webpage... The updated drivers version im using is 6.14.10.6490.
I dont know why but after i i installed the new update and restarted my computer it keeps saying failed to initialize the catalyst control center...So if anyone has a 9800 XT and is using a Different set of drivers, please make a post or help me find a solution to this problem...
For now, i will just roll back my drivers to the retail from teh cd and i will see how it goes, hopefully my hl2 will stop dying.
