Unfair

* * *This is a very angry story that involves a lot of swearing.* * *
So, I was out of school yesterday because of an illness. I came in today(Tuesday) and it was a normal day...until the teacher decided to give us a pop-quiz on what we learned yesterday(the day I was out). My first instinct was "What the f*ck?! What the F*ck do I do?!" I calmed down and said, "It can't be that bad." It got bad... We got the tests back and ! got a 25%!!! I am all, "Holy shit I am a screwed f*ucked up asshole." I eventually calmed down and said I will talk to the teacher about it, she will understand about my absence and the grade. She didn't... She said.
"We learned it last year and you should have remembered it." Now I don't kow about you, but I barely remember stuff about the day before, forget about a year. Now here I am grounded, with a 25% test in my hand, and a report on the 'O Antiphons' due tomorrow.(also something I didn't know about due to my absence)
Can you please tell me if my teacher's reply was unfair or if I was being irrational? It would also help if you knew any of the 'O Antiphons'. ;( :x ;( :x

Its unfair but something that is to be expected from alot of teachers. I think its more unfair that you were grounded because of it. Pop quizes are usually worth VERY little of your total mark.

you're grounded and you're able to post on message boards...don't complain. if i was grounded because of a bad test score it would be because i had been getting lots of bad test scores.

also, if that was the case in my family, i'd be forced to go use an actual library to find what i was looking for...or i'd have to argue and fight to get to use the computer.

i'm almost done with college, but that's what it'd have been like for me in high school...your situation doesn't sound that bad.

just do the report...you can't fight the teacher. you're just wasting energy if you try. it sucks to give in to stupid situations, but it's better than getting all worked up about it.

As for the teacher, she has no right(logicaly thinking) to test you on last year's material. If she disagries without giving logical reasons get used to it - she is a dumbass bitch who blindly follows the rules.

As long as I didn't get held back I was cool.

If you learned about it last year, and you cant remember anything, google it and see what comes up. Of course when i stayed home sick i was in bed the entire day and my parents wouldnt expect me to do well on a test given the next day on what i should have learned. So yes your being irrational.

Wow theres alot of pussy kids in this forum, getting a 25% on a pop-quiz isn't really that big a deal...

you CAN do a report on the 'O Antiphons' though, it should be in your book. read it, write report.

Still doesn't hurt to just go OVER the teachers head on this one.

i don't think calling him a pussy is needed...but yes...we've all stated how getting 25% on a quiz that doesn't really matter isn't really something to worry about.

personally, i don't think your parents could be that stupid. ground you for a 25% on a pop quiz that was on information from the day before? if that's even true, you have the most irrational parents ever.
