Unpacking hl2 gcf

can anyone please explain how to unpack the hl2 gcfs. i know your supposed to use gcfscape, but which directory should i extract the content into? thanks

Well I did and I found several posts that stated.

Extract the GCF files to the "half-life 2" folder.
