Unreal 2 XMP demo out tomorrow

Sweet, I'll be downloading it for sure. Just in time, too. My wireless DSL's finally ('bout damned time) gettin' installed tomorrow. w00t :p

Just hope they increase the characters speed, because it felt like playing an old woman in U2.
 
If I like this, ill probably get U2...u2 is worth gettin right ? ;)

Nah, not sure on this. Graphics are very good and so, but the game is way to short, you can complete it in 4-6 hours.

If you don't have Unreal 1, get that instead. It has co-op in multiplayer, very fun. :)
 
I'll download it as I loved the team SP bits on U2, plus Im allways looking for things to put my video card to the test x.x
 
I've been beta testing XMP for about 3 months now and in my opinion it's excellent.
 
Im downloading it now.. will be done in 20 mins, then I will play it and post what I think, ye gads!

Hey cute, just keep in mind that the people that will be severely beating your ass are probably beta testers. There are already a few out there with seemingly god-like abilities. Grasshopper, PoD, Xaero, babua, Girl_1, MachDelta, and myself (FantasticDamage!) are a few that come to mind. Nobody cheats as far as the beta forum was concerned, but some people are very good. Just stick it out.
 
hmmm...I liked it, if it wasnt for the vehicles it would be crud.

But, I uninstalled it because I didnt think it had any replay value, it just got boring for me very quickly

But I suppose more maps etc would make me try it again

There's around 8 maps now, with more official and unofficial ones coming. I agree, I hate replaying the same map over and over again (accept for BF1942, couldn't get enough of the Wake Island demo). What map is in the demo? Could you describe it a bit? I won't be able to play till I get back from work.
 
Just a massive desert really ;), with hills in the center with a gap in the middle
 
yea it doesn't require the full game, I'v got untill the 9th to get my copy back for the full version.

Yah, XMP_Garden I think. Good map, but replaying it over and over could get very boring. I only play XMP through about 3 maps at a time these days anyway. It's a bit intense.

The best map ever is/was freefall. BEST EVER!

It's a pretty decent game, IMO.
There's a bit of a learning curve, but after an hour or so you'll know your way around the map.

pro:
- Energy generators and spawn points provide a nice strategic element
- Not just fragging, but also hacking, repairing, reviving, etc
- The outdoor terrain looks nice and convincing
- Considering the size of the map, the framerate is good

con:
- It takes time to get used to driving the vehicles
- The indoor base area has a very boring and flat level design
- I don't like the heavily armored look of my teammates. I prefer my teammates to look more human

I've already enjoyed myself for 3 hours today with this game, so I'll recommend people to check it out. :cool:
 
How the hell do you play it? i can't find a server and i can only make a dedicated one!
 
Huh? I just clicked "Play online" and it showed a list of servers.
 
Do you have any kind of firewall installed on your computer, like ZoneAlarm?
 
None, not even windows firewall, thou my crappy ISP makes me stay behind a NAT but that hasen't made any games not work.
