I just recently bought unreal 2003 for 20$ and i download the patch off the net the 53 meg one and i cant install if because it says i dont have it installed and it says its looking for version 400? and when installed unreal 2003 it said i was installing version 2199 and i checked on the patch compatability list on the unreal site and it says the patch is not compatible with my version? and so how am i so supposed to update my patch version so i can install the latest patch for unreal tournament 2003. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You probably need more than one patch then.

Not sure where you got it from, the latest on the site lists;
v2225 - 5/21/03 - 12.3MB
I assume its Unreal Tournament 2003 and not Unreal 2? You only wrote Unreal 2003 :)

all the patches for Unreal Tournament 2003 can be seen here http://www.fileshack.com/browse.x?cat=864 you'll notice that the newest patch is "Unreal Tournament 2003 v2225 patch - Windows" and it's 12.34 MB (12943360 bytes)....

are you sure you're getting the patch?

if you meant Unreal 2 then theres only one patch which you can find here http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=2254 it's 4.06 MB (4259004 bytes)...

[edit]

BTW version 400 sounds like Unreal Tournament version number.....

yeah I think your trying to install the UT patch.

I think he is trying to install the Bonus Pack first before he installs the v2225 patch. You need to install the v2225 patch then you can install the Bonus Pack.

also ris there any when i connect to servers to stop downloading a bunch of stuff becuz it takes forever to get into a server

You have to download that stuff to get into the server but if you want to cancel you press F10 (It says so right on the screen)

Install both bunus packs, that should cut down on the amount of stuff it makes you download.

ut2003 is known for the immense amount of custom content you'll find on it's public servers. Almost every server you try to join either has custom mutators running, custom maps running, or both. Best advice i can give if you dont want to D/L anything when trying to join a server is to know what custom maps and mutators you have already installed and just look for servers that are running that custom content.
