im thinking of buying ut2004 at best buy, the game is at a low price now (29.99$) and theres some mods out there. plus, i think the game looks pretty good. but im not sure if i should buy it or not, is it really worth it? reply quick, cause im leaving pretty soon

Just buy it, then download Red Orchestra when the main game gets boring. And try some multilplayer buggy race tracks.

Dude, that game will own you're social life for a good 3 weeks. It's VERY fun and VERY addictive. Don't even get me started on the mods.

Buy it.
You definitely won't regret it.
It'll probably be your best bought game ever.

Yeah agreed, best of the UTs.

I left my disk at home tho, so I'm stuck at uni without it :(

The game is great, and the mods for it are better. I seriously suggest getting it, but make sure you have 5+GB on your harddrive. Make sure you get the DVD Edition because it is on one disc and it has an informative bonus disc.

It's pretty fun, and the mods are ok. A good, solid, and very large FPS. Personally, I don't like Red Orchestra too much for the fact that most people who play it use the max gamma setting to make nighttime maps look like day, and daylight maps look like you're staring at the sun. Takes the fun out of using dark areas to your advantage.

There are a lot of reasons to buy Unreal Tournament 2004.
Download the bonus packs.
The mutators are one of the reasons to buy Unreal Tournament 2004.
Unreal Tournament 2004 is a very stable game, there are rarely any bugs and the technical support for the game is very good.
As for mods, they kick ass.
The mutators are really fun, especially the stunt vehicles mutator.
I did trade in this game for Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, but it's nothing personal, I like sword fighting games more than first-person shooters.

when I had it installed with maps and mods it had 17gig Folder

You ppl are crazy, the original UT was the best. When I first got the original ctf-face gave me a funny feeling in my balls it was that good. UT2004 is excellent as well, following the first...2003 is not too shabby, but the worst of the three

thanks guys, i just got back, bought the dvd-edition. features: the complete ut2004, six new onslaught maps, three new onslaught vehicles, six new characters and eleven additional mods created by unreal players.

I would pay the 50 bucks just for red orchestra, UT2k4 is an amazing deal, my advice, get it.

I would get it. Just got my copy a month ago. Kicks ass.

How much servers do you people get typicaly whnn you refresh your list, I mean with cs:s i get around 500 below 100 ping or so. How is it with 2004, cause I wanted to play 2003 a couple months ago at a friends house and I had less then 5 servers with ping below 100, but that was maybe cause everyone moved over to 2004, so can anyone tell me.

I brought my copy the weekend. been playing it everyday since. Great fun and very addictive!

Yea its a fantastic game, i preordered UT2003 and UT2004 :D :D - DVD Version is also worth it if you dont fancy juggling 6 Discs around.

The single one problem I have with it, is that when I host games, people can't join - this has happened ever since I have got my router. I have opened all the ports its supposed to use, but I'm still having a shot at it.

Its something that you can pick up, play, and pwn. My three P's :naughty:

ive been playing, and wow! its an awesome game, but it can be fustrating though, like playing the beacon things, where you have to hold them for 8 seconds. you get it, but the enemies keep taking it back and it takes like an hour for the game to complete

Dude, buy UT 2004, it has so much stuff in it and the bots are really good. Onslaught is the best thing about it the tanks and cars and air kicks a@@
