Anyone else thinking of getting it? Looks great from what i've seen, and im hoping to play the demo.

But..

Its rated 18. My dad would be fine with it, but my mum is a different story. Anyone know why they rated it so high?

Probably because the graphics are far more realistic than before, and thus the blood and gore is more realistic as well.

Doesn't the SP campaign have a bit of horror aspect as well?

So they're saying a 16/17yr old couldnt handle the blood + horror.

:|

Realistic? Right.... You have the standard gibs and puddle of blood. Sure it's spectacular and satisfying, but not realistic.

It's not worse than Manhunt 3, and that got the 12+ rating.

Wait, I may have gotten this wrong, let me check my sources.

The graphics dont look that spectacular.

How realistic could the blood look.. :dozey:

Tell your mum that most kids have been playing 18+ games since they were 13 or 14.

SHE IS ALWAYS WATCHING.

I tried to pursuade her to let me play GTA by saying it was a 12+, she watched me play it and finally found out otherwise.

It'd be fine if it was 16+ >.<

you young kiddies are quite impressionable at such a young age....you should just stick with mario :)

I purchased Mario over Crysis. *shrug*

Doesn't bother me though, I'm 18 now. :E

Directed at me? 13. 14 in a few months.

I'd really like the Midway to explain why exactly its an 18. As bots saying: "F! Ya" and a bit of blood arent particularly good reasons :/

No offense but your parents are overacting about this.

The first PC game I've ever played was Blood by Monolith back in 98. I was 11 at the time, and my parents had no problem whatsoever with it. Actually me and my dad both played:cheese:

My dad let me play Duke Nukem at the age of 4.

He is no problem.

Clearly the multiplayer gibbing action will make him shoot up his school.

Oh wait...columbine.. :p

Tell her you think you are mature enough to handle a little fake blood.

*Was waiting for an irrelevant comment to arrive* :x

Apparently European 17 year olds aren't as mature... :O

Just import the American version, which would be rated at M (17+), if your parents can't get over the adult only thing.

UT3 = 18? I knew something was wrong in this world when I found out that the fourth season of MacGyver is rated 18!

Just tell your parents that you'll start shooting at school if you don't get it :p

At play.com, at the bottom of the page it says: 15+ & at Amazon.co.uk, it says 16+

I've checked out the official page for UT3 and that says 18+

Obviously the official is right, but whats up with amazon + play.com?

I checked UT3 demo, it is spectacular, but does not warrent a +18 rating. The realism isnt really so, more or less they have just redone their explosions so that they are more orange than white. Still, the reskinning has been extremely good, and I like the hoverboards, especially since they dont work on water, unless you've got POWWWWAAAA!

Anyway. Its not woth a +18 rating. Hell, it should be +12 at most.

grab a pistol and aim it to your parents and say "if I dont get the game I will shoot ya you get me?!I will blow your brains of ya skull ya heard me?! I am a man!I demand to watch violence or I will kill the shet out of you two!!!"

You can say that violence doesn't promote violence but lack of violence promotes violence and you'll shoot someone if you don't vent off your anger in digital people instead of real people.

Why is it there? You're running around, blowing the shit out of people. And with parents in such an uproar over FPS games these days, and Jack Thompson being the raving psycho that he is, it's only natural the ESRB would put an 18+ lock on this game.

But ESRB doesn't apply here, there 18+ rating is "AO" and games that receive that rating never make it on American store shelves. 18+ is a Euro thang.

I'm definitely getting GOW pc, I want to try this full game before I get it though. I heard people who could run it before can't now.

Yeah I've there's a number of bugs with the PC version.

anyone know if a patch is coming out soon for it? seriously whats up with the rating?
