Yes, I'm back :D

Some of you may recognise these pictures from my old camera phone shots from time ago.

Just over 5mb of pictures overall, which isn't bad considering the amount of pictures on here. I have resized each one of them :I but if any are still too big just say.

Ok keep in mind the following :D
  • Pictures were often taken on a pile of work, hence the slight punch effect
  • This is only 1 year of work
  • I don't draw in my free time, so I lack out-of-class practise. What's the need to practise when you don't want to do art lol.
  • I'm a complete turd at painting
  • I don't want to persue art as a career, so I don't really put as much effort as I would need to to make a portfolio or something. Which is why a lot of the work you will see is unfinished. But it's been graded already anyways :D
  • I'm only 17 lol - in fact, since this was my FIRST year of work (second year of work I'm doing right now) a lot of it was done when I was 16

I don't use any fancy pencils or paper or anything. Pen drawings are usually 99% of the time straight to pad, planning with pencil etc is too tedious for me. I do the sketchbook stuff with random pencils I find, usually cheap unmarked ones lol. Feel free to comment or ask questions about any pictures, I am happy to hear what people think about them.

Here are the pictures in no particular order:

Thats it for the moment folks :D I'm still progressing through my 2nd/Final year of A-Level Art so I will post one when this study year is done.

STICKY FTW! :P

Excellent work. Keep pushing forward and you'll carve out a slice of artistic heaven for yourself.

<3 art
keep up the excellent work mate - your portraits are by far your best work so more of the same please

Good job on some of the first things with the ladies id wish youd use more value

Awesome, awesome stuff man. Particularly the organics side of things - you've got shading and proportions and anatomy down really well, far better than most people who post on here. Really mindblowing work there.

heh Thanks much all :D Theres quite a few wicked artists around here so thats an excellent batch of comments to have :D

Maybe its jsut the lighting but in some of the works, other than the pen works which i love, they seem kind of two toned, but maybe thats just the camera. what im trying to say it get darker

Have you mastered the techniques of putting sex directly on to paper?

Thanks all :D

Haha I wish, that would get me bucketloads if I could

That raises a point, which is one of the main reasons why I'm not continuing art as one of my studies... now call me greedy - as I know I am - but isn't the future of art financially dire? I would prefer a career with a far more stable and reliable income source rather than a very risky and difficult path. Besides theres no room for artists like I would become, my vision of a lot of the modern art we have today is corrupt (go to Tate Modern in London, you will know what I mean). Theres only a limited range of modern art I like, some digital art, minimalism, etc. But a lot of modern art today I think is corrupt and I refuse to become a part of it.

I kind of agree with you unreal but there are alternatives to this like alot of people who major in so and so usually endup far away from their major ie like i majored political science but now i own a resturant; the only consistent usually are teachers/ researchers/ doctors. but yo can always apply your art somewhere else which isnt as monetarilary challenging ie, landscaping architectural drafting Fashion design(which is harder than usual art) besides i think the market is growing with each new movie coming out using massive cgi the art field is growing

Just package up one of the Elisha Cuthbert nicely and look up the address to send it to. Include a note for her and a note for whoever opens it asking it to please be delivered to her. I bet you she'll get it.

You could do illustrations for magazines, or maybe comic books and stuff. Advertising in magazines would work too. Its not that bad of a job money-wise.

Anyways, in that one you did of yourself... second post, last piece... what did you use for that? Was that just pen and ink, ink wash, or what? I like that one a lot.

And yes, as others have said, you do people very very well. The one you said was your worst, is way out of my league still heheh.

You need to look beyond Tracy Emin and the Turner prize, my cousin makes a living from selling his paintings, so I wouldn't say it's in a dire state, you just need to be in the right place :D

Thanks for every comment all :DDD

I used some cheap ass pencil for all of it (£1 for pack of 24 FTW). Took 8 hrs total (that was the exam time) so thats how I managed to get an A1 sheet covered... it was also trimmed as you can see (intentional plan from the start) for a more better view about the elements of the drawing (the eyes, the background). Thanks mate :)

You really think so? Because I would do that STAT lol. I would prob add a short note aswell, like write back or something even for one reply, so I know it isn't gathering dust somewhere...:hmph:

I still don't really see any good future placements for working in the art industry, despite really looking into it lately. Unless you are successfull (which is hard), a lot of aspiring artists are living by the thread

No wonder you dont want to take art further, just doing still lifes all the time :upstare: .

You've got talent, I think you could take it further.

Nice work man, keep it up.

:)

Well luckily my parents support the decision I've made, along with other people like my uncle (professional producer signed by Sony & BMG, produced for Will Young etc) but my art teacher is neigh happy, she said im putting my skills to waste. I guess shes right, but I would fancy a dedicated music course rather than something split into two so I could do art for the qualification factor (either way folks, I'm not going to get an art job) but then get a lesser Music Production qualification.

Woooo! you are amazing spesh at drawing faces, particularly the ones of women!

Thanks all, I got a few other bits of my new A Level sketchbooks lying about, gonna snap those up tomorrow

I absolutely love all your pencil art.

Hmmm, your work is pritty good. But it brings back a lot of bad memories of how bad some art courses really are.
