This isn't tight rope walking. The line that Dean Potter is walking on is 100 feet up and elastic so it bounces and sways with every step.

Oh god damn I just got vertigo what the **** that's crazy

yeah I wouldn't even watch that on TV if it were LIVE. that stuff is crazy

At 11:40 Eastern Time
In Georgia of the United States of America,
While viewing Untethered Highlining, a topic on Halflife2.net/forums,
Brix were shat.

Why the hell would anyone do that, I know about thrill seeking and all but who the hell gets a thrill from that?

Won't be surprised one bit when he winds up in the news dead.

That is such a stupid thing to do. VERY stupid. Scares the heck out of me.

EDIT: Of course it doesn't help that I have a slight natural fear of heights to begin with.

People that do this kind of thing often practice for hours every day, for most of their life, to the point where they can easily do it blindfolded while friends shake the wire. They practice at a safe distance from the ground.

They only do it at dangerous heights like this a few times in their life and make sure they have an audience.

At least that's what I assume after watching a movie called 'Man On Wire'. Good movie BTW.

Those people who are the absolute best at what they do, still end up dying at what it is they are best at though.

It happens.

the second you realize your having your first seizure on a untethered highwire, is the last day you live

also you live by the sword you die by the sword

well, they live for that thrill, so they don't think it's stupid. They are like drug addicts. They accept the danger or they wouldn't do it.

even if i was the best in the world at something like this, i'd still want to be at least strapped down on the off-chance that i sneeze.

Goddamn that's terrifying. When I hiked up to Angel's Landing in Zion Canyon a few years ago (which was scary enough on the trail, 3 feet wide with 2000 foot sheer drop on either side) there were a bunch of people tightrope walking over the 2000 foot abyss with no safety lines and I almost had a heart attack watching them.

! ! ! My brother's walked that, he showed me pictures, absolutely absurd. He and his friend challenged themselves to go all the way up and down with no hands.

Eughh, made my feet/legs go all funny.

Spectators, bring a change of underwear. But imagine being on that shit. That'll keep your dick hard until you're 90.

I don't get why he'd wear those ****ing jeans doing that shit. Looks like it'd restrict your movement way too much to be a good idea.

Yeah, I just want to see his dong.
