Ive been mappin in hammer for a while now, my main strength is I have a thing for tiny two-square-wide-hardly-anyone-notices details that give my maps a more prfessional edge. I hate leaving bits unfinished, Iv been through maps maticulously puting in nodraw textures everywhere possible.

now, as a big mod fan, before I offered my skills to a mod, I figured I better make a map with everything I learnt that still looks natural and smooth, I decided on an italy themed counterstrike map to keep player range broad, Im about 25% through, and along rolls the update... meanwhile i try a little terrain editing... I replace that missing file the update looses.. everythings fine.. then

disaster.

I load up my map, the one ive really been puttin every thing into, and wham. no textures. EVERYTHING has been untextured and all my decals are gone. It would take me weeks to find them all again and repalce them perfectly... I dont know what happened... I fell as if ive been raped by valve!

if anyone can save me the trouble of retexturing my entire map please please let me know!

um...the missing file..if it was that stupid gameinfo.txt, i want you to take that file out that you put in. Now that the file is out, run counterstrike and join a game or something. Leave the server. Go back to hammer and your map should be fine. Cuz i think what happens is that CS:S automatically makes you another gameinfo where needed. I had the same problem...i got freaked out too...i cried like a little baby for 10 min while typing for help to this very server....yea i said to much. Hopefully i helpped you out, then again...i know i helped you out cuz im 100% positive that if you follow my directions above...everything should be fine.

well I feel VERY fewlish now... I was trying to run the map in hammer while it was set to the halflife2 setting. . heh heh.. hammer couldnt find the textures from italy... oopsie false alarm!

yeah, I figured out the gameinfo.txt pretty easy myself, but the problem was my own fault...
