Should I get the x800 if my cpu is only an AMD 2800+? I was also wondering if I should buy another stick of 512 RAM to make my total 1gig. I have the 9800 pro right now.

The 2800+ is more than capable of running the X800 Pro.
The X800 XT, however, might be slightly bottlenecked.

Athlon XP 2800+?
If you would fully use the X800 with AA/AF and you could sell your 9800Pro for 150$ then it might be worth it to you. ;)
If you won't use AA/AF with the new DX9 games then you can just keep your 9800pro and save the cash for something else or when the price drops.

Since I have had 1gb of memory, I cannot part with it. 1gb would help but I don't know how much because I don't know what games/apps you use.

Upgrading to a gig of RAM would be very helpful for upcoming games.

As for graphics cards, the one you have is still very, very good. As a rule of thumb, I usually don't look for upgrades for at least a year after I purchase computer hardware. I would recommend the same to you.

[Edit]: Asus, flip your avatar

My dad is going to buy my 9800 pro for full price($210) so I dont have to worry about that. All I need to know is will the xt be bottlenecked by my cpu?

I'm pretty sure the XT will be slightly bottlenecked, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

The X800 XT is still bottlenecked by the FX-51 :O

Should I upgrade to the x800/xt or is the 9800 pro good enough for now?

I'd stick with the 9800 Pro.

Although, there have been rumors of an X800 SE.. in which case, you could wait for benchmarks of that for when it becomes available. It should be a great deal faster than the 9800 Pro, and at a cheaper price than the X800 Pro/XT. Of course, it's going to be a toned down X800, but it should still be a good card regardless (or, I'm hoping).

The X800 Pro would be a good choice; although, I really see no reason why you should upgrade at this point

Alright I get bottleneck on my X800 Pro from a 2600+ OC'd to 2ghz. Go from there.
