URGENT : Spell Checker !!!

Really, so many spell errors could be avoided if you just supplied a fast and clean spell checker (especially for thread titles, oh, the thread titles)

I just hope StarMonkey can hax something in... the situation is getting desperate.

I'd vote against a spellchecker... IMO it makes people lazy and more prone to make mistakes in their writing when they can't use a spellchecker. So I am against it.

When I see someone that cannot spell, especially when they live in a country that speaks english as their first language, it easily makes me value their opinion less. It makes them seem less educated.

Bah! People are far too caught up in spelling here. 99% of the time bad spelling and/or grammar is due to the member simply not going back to check things, not because they are simply bad with the english language.

We aren't writting an essay here, and when you are typing a message as fast as you can to express your opinions or when you feel in a rush there is no time to go back and check what mistakes you may have made.

It would be nice to actually know what the heck people are saying. Sometimes I don't understand what, "half life is are going the gold after today when valve and vivendi are never not going to never end their disspyoot" means.

We don't need a spell checker, we need for people to be more careful when posting a message, and actually check it quickly to see if it actually makes sense...

A spell checker would be worthless for these forums.
There's not much to correct with " teh tis r0xor5 g0ld!1! "
- which is what most post are.
(I don't think I've seen someone use the word 'fora' since my great grandfather)

AHAAaaa... a spellchecker..... finally i don't need to learn how to type...?? Although it is a really dumb idea when you think about it.....as lots of people actually spell badly on purpose... stupid people making up new languages... !!! :sniper: and as chris said it would overload the servers...... hm..... i think most people are capable enough to be able to correct anything they see...and anything else can really be corrected by asking them what they actually meant and hoping that they reply in the thread....
