US componants work in the UK?

Im thinking of getting my 8800GTS from America as its gonna work out cheaper than getting i from here (UK).

Will the card work on my machine?

In the UK it costs £222, where as from US EBay its £177 including P+P

LOL ofcourse not! I thought different voltages, electric grid and so on might affect it

PC stuff is standard. The only thing that would be different is power from the wall but pretty much all power supplies have a volt switch on the back to toggle between the two standards.

If I ordered parts from the US, would I have to pay any sort of tax to customs or anything? (greedy bastards)
Everything is so much cheaper from the US compared to here, even after shipping costs.

Nopt I dont think we do, I asked some guys on Ebay who are from the US and they said what I pay on Ebay is the total price... no taxes no surcharges... Need to get a decent PSU before I go for a 8800GTS XXX Edition :cheese:

i bought my entire computer from the US and they shipped it over to europe and it works perfectly. Be sure that the PSU supports 255 tho...
