I recently bought these headphones > AM-840MU

They are USB adapter Heapphones with a microphone attached. When I plug them into my computer, it says that they don't work properly however the headphones don't come with drivers (Or supplied on the net). Is there some Audio USB driver I need in order to use them or some other universal device. I have Windows XP SP2, fully updated and it still has troubles. Can someone please submit a fix etc. ;(

edit:// I bought them from Jaycar (Australian Electronics Store)

Ive got some Logitech ones like that - Headphones + Microphone ... They work straight away though, im not sure why yours wouldnt, unless they arent supported by the standard drivers.

Hmm. This is why you should always read up on reviews before buying anything.

Tried other USB ports?

Yeah, direct, front and even the ones in my G15 Keyboard.
I'm going to take them to the solid Win xp computers they have down at the library see if they work then. It could just be SP2 or something wrong with the supplied USB 2.0 Drivers, since my Asus motherboard supplies me with drivers.

When you say direct do you mean in the back? I would assume that would be the ones mounted on the board by the PS2 keyboard/mouse connections and not in an expansion slot below.

Would be good to try them in another PC. ;)
Also, maybe your sound card or onboard is conflicting? Could it be that you have to select the headphones in one of sound setups as a hardware device instead of your other sound device? (not referring to the basic headphones, 2.1 stereo, or 5.1 select page)

I haven't updated SP2 fully (because of the pesky Genuine Windows thing) but I doubt it will make a difference; however I'll get back to you if it does :l

I gave back the headphones, and i found out something was wrong with the connection :|. But now with the new ones, i can hear only Windows and VLC; i can't hear any games or Winamp :(

Any Suggestions?

Sounds like you need to set the games/winamp to use the usb audio instead of your standard audio card.

Note: I don't really know how to go about doing this, sorreh :(
