using account twice

i have 2 computers [mine & my dads]

im oging to buy hl2, and resister it with my account.

now for the other comp to be able to paly it, it will have to be logged into my account.

is there anyway to make the 2nd comp ALWAYS log in as offline mode [even though there is a dsl connection]. so this way we will both be able to play, without one person off the account

Not as far as I know. This function may be added at some point, but don't get your hopes up to high - they're trying to prevent piracy remember (which you aren't doing, however that method would help those who are software pirates)

You can log in with the same Steam account on several machines at the same time, so I do not see why you should not be able to play in offline mode at the same time.

Just pull the network cable out of the comp and start steam, then it will atomaticly ask you if you wanna play in offline mode, you go in offline mode and thats it you can play on 2 comps.

I just thought you should know that in fact what you are attempting to do IS in fact considered piracy. You purchased one copy of the game, to be played on one computer at a time. If you wish for you and your father to be able to play at the same time then you require two legally purchased copies of the game. It's all right there in the EULA.
