Using bullets more than once on a line

In Microsoft Word, I want to arrange a bulleted list of 6 items on 3 lines (2 per line). Rather than 6 lines. But it doesn't auto-bullet when I enter an asterisk at the left-tabbed position, 4 inches over.

I'd probably make a two-column table with invisible borders. There's probably a smarter way of doing it though, since this is the kind of 'tables for layout!' trick that web designers would crucify you for.

Yeah... what kupo said.

Word has a column formatting option, but I've only been able to get it to work for a whole page (essentially you would have to put a lot of spaces between the first 3 and the last 3 bullets).
