Using mods once they are installed?

It says they are isntalled in the esc->mods/addons menu, but how do I actually use them? I have npc control, a couple of sweps, and that's all. Only one mod works, the aligner thing.

If some SWEP addons don't work, what I do is take everything out of the folder (except info.txt) and place them seperately into my Garry's Mod folder. That's how it works for me.
