they've just won first place in Make something unreal contest

does anyone here play regularly? I've played the ut2003 incarnation but at the time I had an underpowered computer and it was laggy.

Can someone give me there impressions? Is the UT2004 version any different? How have they improved it?

I loved the ut2003 version to bits, 0wned DOD anyday :P

But since I dont have ut2004 I stopped playing it

hmmmm I've played almost every ww2 game out there and DoD was one of my faves ...I didnt get that into RO because my pc was teh crappy. What did you like about it?

sweet, wow those screens look great ...I thought the UT2003 version played a little too much like the Third Reich mod for UT ...but this looks much better, thanks

boring gameplay for me, too much sitting around waiting for something to happen. good atmosphere though.

mmmm could you elaborate? do people play as a team or is it every man for himself?

It's much more necessary to stick with your team and work together than in Day of Defeat.

How is the bot support with Red Orchestra? For someone on dial-up that is usually one of the most important features. :(

I would like to know this too, I might get ut2004 and play over a lan and need bots to fill it up :)

edit: and whoa! :O, I just saw the videos on the official site, it looks awsome!

The bots are pretty dumb, I wouldn't rely on them to give you a good game.

I didn't like the mod too much to tell the truth. I love iron sights in games but the emphasis on realism on every aspect of the game was annoying for me. I also found it somewhat silly that they do not intend to add in vehicles, one of the main additions to ut2k4 simply because it "wouldn't be realistic on their scenario".

Realism != fun for me :(

Actually, they are planning on adding vehicles in future updates. I bought UT2k4 just to play RO, but right now I'm waiting until I have enough money to build my new comp. It runs kinda crappy on my current system but it was hella fun when I played it on my friend's system. It's more of a thinker's game, you really gotta use tactics and such to complete the missions. I'll be playing it again in about 2 weeks. That and IL2:FB will make waiting for HL2 much easier.

RO is not innovative enough. Great graphics, great animations, great sounds but the gameplay doesn't feel new or exciting. I couldn't find a reason to continue playing it instead of Dod.

this game really is awesome i love it just because it is so satisfying to plink someone with my rifle and watch their body ragdoll... its all about the ragdoll bodies and one shot kills for me :)

I love the mod, I played it A LOT. You have to work with your team or nothing is going to get done, things like covering them while they run into a building or just watching a back entrance. The only problem is the lack of maps(atleast for me) so the game got boring after about a month.
