UT2007 preview

some highlights:

- The only load is when you join a server in UT 2007. Once that match ends, the game will pop you right into the next one." James explained that the streaming technology would let the engine anticipate the next bout and prepare for it, which will cut back on a lot of gaming downtime.

- James went on to explain how each environment will also tie into a larger whole ... The "Liandri planet," as it's tentatively being referred to, will at least feature lower areas of rubble and ruin, middle environments with industrialized themes, upper realms of glitzy urban life, and encircling space / sky areas.

- Epic is hoping to finish up Unreal Tournament 2007 and release it alongside Gears of War. That makes the game a Q1 - Q2 2006 release, which might even make it a PS3 launch title, if that ever gets officially confirmed

Open level, loading time is few seconds ?

w0w :D

I'm excited about the tier system ..I find that most mp games (especially sci-fi themed) dont have something that ties it all together story wise

Agreed CptStern, it really sounds good that they're aiming to have some coherence.

What modes are there? I hope they don't get rid of assault again.

INSANE! Cant wait, thats all i can really say!

any one remember that mode in unreal championchip where you had a ball and tried to shoot it into the enemies goal that was fun

The best bit imo. :)

If your machine explodes mine will tear a hole in the space-time continuum.

This is gunna be fun! I wish those 2 guys would shut the hell up for a second and let us hear the black guy talk.

It looks even more impressive than ever! Really can't wait for this game but i think i'll need a new PC just to install the game, nevermind play it :p

It will run on 7800 GTX's, so I suppose it could run on X800XT's and 6800 Ultras, just not as high quality as the 7800GTX (like maybe turn anti-aliasing down, etc)

first game that im actually worried won't run or run decent atleast on low settings on my pc.
2000+
9600XT
768 mb of ram

Usually people over exagerate the minimum requirements, and you don't always need the minimum requirements to play.. so i'll just have to wait and see.

Wow, better upgrade my rig to the high end stuff for this game. Can't wait.

I am interesed on the possibility of be a ps3 launch title

Are you kidding? You're machine will handle it fine. They showed it running on a 7800GTX (I think it was the GTX) flawlessly, probably with all the settings cranked. And that was an early, unrefined version of the engine. An X800XT, which is also what I'm getting soon, can get up there with the 7800 in performance. So you may have to set some things at medium, but you'll be fine.

I'm not overly interested in it but it looks amazing. Out of curiosity, how well would this run it?

AMD 64FX-51 2.2GHz
1024MB PC3200 RAM
ATI Gigabyte X800XT Platinum Edition
120GB HD 7200RPM

Wow it's like I'm speaking in some kind of code.

Anyway, thanks.

I doubt it'll be out until late next year, they reckon Q1 - Q2 2006, I don't see it however. These things always get delayed.
