When I am texturing and getting the polygons back to scale so I can stamp it then paint on it, why does my background keep changing? I have the checkerboard background valve uses, then I accidently click something and it changes back to some obscure rotoscope I used once. It's annoying as hell.

Second, where did some of my polygons go? I was working along, then I tried to select a cluster to make it disappear so I could see behind it, and all the polygons I had just done disappeared. I can't figure out how to get them back. Selecting them on the model doesn't help, they stay invisible. I haven't saved in awhile, so I hope they're not permanently gone.

Any ideas?

I've got another question. How do I get my texture to stick? It won't render. Also, if I deselect it, the texture on the model goes away.

I'm going to assume you're using XSI since you didn't specify... if I'm wrong, ignore me.

maybe you changed the animation frame? when using rotoscope, it only defines your image for a certain number of frames, and then seems to default to the XSI standard, that weird, colored thing.

I'm a newb also, so I dunno about that other stuff. :cheese:

Yeah, I'm using XSI. Sorry for not clarifying. I appreciate the idea, but I didn't change the animation frame.

I successfully got my shotgun skinned. I am happy. What do you guys think?

the problem is that you are using xsi. use max. much better. (crackhead, say nothing.)

crackhead would find it hard to comment on anything round here anymore...
