Vacuforming

Does anyone know a good deal about Vacuforming, or has done it themself? I need some help. Plus, I'd like to know it for future reference.
I am aware you can easily build your own Vacuform machine.

But here is my dilemma, the portal gun I have been working on has rubber pieces, which was easy, but a dumb idea. Because now that rubber has shrunk/expanded from the cold/heat. So I want to fix it up, and then Vacuform it.

So basically, this is what the state the portal gun is in now, except I have sculpted it up a bit/it's in the process of being sculpted more.




If it is possible, do you know how it would have to be broken up?

If you can help me, and need more pictures in order to do so, just let me know.

All I would be able to do would be to link you to some sites that you'd be able to find yourself if you wanted to. If I had to guess, I'd say Shippi has some experience with vacuforming because of her armor and stuff, but I think she actually ordered it all pre-made.
