So on a random whim I applied to a job as a valet and got it. The interview was just me showing up and my manager saying I was hired.

All you do is drive really nice cars around and park them. Pay is $8/hr plus tips which is like another $10/hr. The only problem is that I'm not a car buff, so when someone asks me to go get the grey Porsche Cayenne, I have no idea what it looks like except that it's grey. When things aren't busy I can just sit in the valet room and do homework.

Yesterday I was at a really fancy wedding and they had a garage full of extra flowers so I took some home. And I grabbed one of the guest gift boxes, it was a deluxe designer chocolate thingy.

WTF! How old are you? **** that'd be a sweeeet ass job seriously...I can't even get a part time job at Futureshop LOL.

I'd so get my picture while I was in one of the hotter cars, and say it's mine :P

Nice job though, wish I could get one that easy. :(

I keep reading it as "valve is the easiest job ever".

Valet does soudn pretty sweet, thugh.

Yeah I would be messed up going looking for those cars. I would have to ask the license plate number and then just look through the lot for the number.

Man, I am looking into this NOW! I'm getting me a job like this!

I'm sure it isn't so nice and sweet when you happen to scratch the paintwork on a grey Porsche Cayenne :P

I wish there was a valet around here in my town. It sounds easy.

Where, specifically, are you working? Some sort of valet service? I know fancy restaurants and hotels have their own valets...

I'd be fired the first day on the job most likely. I'd probably joy ride with any Ferrari's or Lambo's. :(

All I saw in this thread is that you don't know what a Porsche looks like.

:O

Yeh I'm 14 and I pass out flyers for cingular on peoples doorsteps. 25-50 bucks and hour if I'm lucky.

That's why they have valet keys, or valet mode. Can't rev higher than 3k and can't drive faster than 25mph (or numbers close to that).

You'll love the job until you accidently screw up and hit something.

Porsche Cayenne? Meh.

Porsche Carerra? Hell yeah...

This is only my third day on the job now. But the nicest cars I've driven is are a BMW beamer, a 7 series and some red Mustang. They were all manuals, a nice break from driving automatics. Some of the BMWs have a messed up shifter where reverse is in the top left corner instead of the bottom right corner.

If anyone is looking for a job to help pay your way through school this is probably it. They look mostly for clean cut, well dressed guys, like college students. But I don't think there are any girl valets. And all of the work is on evenings and weekends so you can still go to class.

      Companies will all have different style transmissions. :p

I hate those so much. I think it's a german thing, because my mom's volkswagon jetta is like that.

From my experience, tutoring little kids is one of the easiest jobs I've ever had. Once you get pass (or block out) their kid attitudes it becomes a really good job for pay.

Hell I get paid $20 / hr to teach pretty basic stuff... :)
