There has been files found in the SDK about TF2, so obviously they have been working on it some.

Yeah too bad that was using the HL1 engine, these are files for the Source engine.

Well they said expect more news after HL2 is released :p

I mean they never did say _when_ after HL2 was released, but hey... so far VALVe has been true to their word... ( :( )

yeah, the source engine did indeed start as the hl1 engine (a highly modified quake engine originally) and if you look close (which was evident in the leak fiasco as well) you will find chunks of the original HL1 code as well.

regardless, that means nothing... tf2 is like poof... who knows, last we heard was doug said "ask me about TF2 after E3 is over" and that was in what? 2004? we asked he said nothing.

then again I can understand the hesitation.... with all the good team war games that have come out since/ are coming out... tf2s old design would need a major overhaul before it could stand a chance against the BF2/bf2142s and Quake wars of today/tomorrow.

that being said lets see what happens.. it hasn't attained DNF status quite yet, close but not yet.
