In last nights Game Trailers TV Episode Valve chief Gabe Newell confirmed that Episode 3 is being worked on. Well it isn't really that shocking, but at least we know they haven't forgotten about it. Gabe also reiterated the fact that Valve aren't working on any PS3 games. You can also find some footage of the fairground level from Left 4 Dead 2.[br]Thanks to VG24/7 for all the info!

Like I said. Their PR won't work if they say they ask Valve about Episode 3. It would be a different issue if they say Valve will give them new info on Episode 3.

They also unveiled a Katana melee weapon.

That's a great mod map! But realistically though, I want a carnival map. At the end you go to the top of a ferris wheel where a helicopter picks you up. -hool10 01-04-2008

Valve didn't steal my idea (well maybe inspired) and the L4D 2 boycott guy didn't claim Valve stole his idea neither. I think it's funny though because back then I wanted a carnival map and parking garage in L4D. I got the parking garage then and now I got the carnival! :D Katana is pretty cool too. I think the game is starting to hold its weight more and more. L4D 2 might be worth the price after all.

holyshit damn valve stole your idea, bastards!

Hool showing some optimism?! Judgement day is upon us :D

I remember before L4D came out they did a poll on some site, I think it might have been 411, for the most wanted campaign ideas, and I think the top 3 were a Shopping Mall, a Carnival and a Prison (I didnt really understand that last one tbh).

I wonder what the uncommon common for this campaign will be, zombie clowns would be awsome.

does it mention anything about whether they're using another significant engine update?

You mean you've never beat up a couple of hoodlums with a cricket bat?

L4D2 is looking awesome, and I want to get it.

It was quasi-sarcasm eluding to:

Rage...looks like a better fallout...

That preview for Rage got me hyped quite a bit...

Same here. id always deliver the thrills & spills & this looks like upping the graphical anti somehwat. Very creative environments as well. Could be a belter this one.

it actually looks like it's running the Unreal engine! what doom 3's engine SHOULD'VE been...

also I swear to god, having to switch to a melee weapon had better be optional. i better still have my default weapon melee

From the videos i've seen of Left4Dead 2 the weapon melee is still in the game.

i would be surprised if they have even started on developing. i think the only thing that they are working on currently is concept art and story line stuff.

The melee weapons work like the gas cannisters, when you pick them up, you can only go back to your weapon or medkit etc by dropping it again. The normal melee attack still exists.

Interviewer: are you working on hl2 epi 3. ?
G.N: when comes to hl2 epi 3 I have nothing to say about that as this point......
Interviewer: but u are working on it
G.N. yes

hmmmmmm okey my question is this. Have they got feed up with the game. ?

Gabe Newell is slowing down with finishing Episode 3 because he is too lazy to begin make Half-Life 3.

Yeah. Gabe Newell is Valve's only employee. He does all the work.

Cut to musical montage of Gabe Newell running a laboratory on his own.

I thought of this idea ages ago. Valve are stealing my ideas. :p

Melee weapons: I want to be able to pick up melee weapons occasionally. Golf clubs in apartments, axes in tool-sheds, etc. These weapons are similar to the explosives you find around. You pick them up, you use them, you throw them away. They are more powerful than gun melee but have a marginally slower swing speed. Good for when you're backed into a corner on Expert and don't want to accidentally shoot a team mate. Or just for fun when you and your mates want to run through No Mercy twatting zombies with golf clubs and pool cues. Even if they prove impractical, it'd still be fun.

See? I want royalties. Or a credit in the game. Or maybe a character modelled on me.

Lot of good stuff in here. I'm pretty sure ths is the first time we've actually seen the uncommon common of The Parish and a katana? Excellent. I would really like a better understanding of the Spitter's spit. Is it like fire? Is it impossible to run through it? Does it do damage if you do? I really hope I can set up a wall of spit preventing survivors from getting to the rescue vehicle. I'm glad they officially confirmed the amusement park campaing that they hinted, hopefully the mall campaign they hinted is there too.
