Hi there,

My name is Shenja van der Graaf and I do a PhD at the London School of Economics for which I'm studying games and mod communities surrounding the games of Valve, so I came up with this survey and now I'm hoping you have some time to answer some questions.

The great thing about is, is that you can win one of the many cool T-shirts from snorgtees as a way to thank you (well, bribing perhaps!?).

Take me to the survey (because gaming is c00l)

I have been in touch with Valve about this research however I am not hired by Valve nor any other gaming companies to do this research. The results of this study are used in my PhD thesis which you can read here (over the next few months...)

All questions and comments can be directed to Rocketgrrrl aka Shenja van der Graaf via email

ADVERT ALERT! SOCIOFRACTURE IN PROGRESS! NONSTANDARD EXOGENS!

ahem.

THIS WAS THE BEST SURVEY EVER!! AND I GOT A FREE PS3!

eh?

you guys don't realize just how important surveys and feedback are to companies and independent studies. if any of you took the time to actually complete the survey you would have noticed that it isn't a scam it doesn't have any flashy banners or stupid questions.

Exactly, noobcakes.

Why should I fill out a survey when I can pay not to?

HOLY SHIT SHE'S BANNED WTF :|

She was only conducting a goddamn survey...

Yeah, she was asking for help with a survey... I dont think that warrants a ban hammer smacking.

Well, I WAS going to give her the benefit of the doubt and take the survey, but I open it, and it tells me to enable java...well, it is. If it needs anymore enabling, then I don't trust it. >_> <_<

She signs up to the forum, and her first post is a survey.

The ban was justified.

Where in the rules does it say "If first post is asking people to help you, you get banned"?

In fact... where are the rules?

Not that I can talk from a depth of posting experience but if your first post is an online survey..... I don't know where I'm going with this it's just DAMM SUSS

Not like it matters that she got banned, if she signed up just to post about her survey I doubt she'd come back to post anyways.
