valve guy screen freeze at 100% complete

well, ive dloaded all of hl2, it reads 100% and i still cant play
it freezes at the valve guy
weird thing is, i can play cs:s even though its at 98%

uh
any help fixing my hl2 singleplayer would be greatly appreciated
frankly, its pissing the hell outta me
