If you don't know already, if your in a Steam game (CSS, HL2 & mods etc'). Open the console up and type "mp3" then submit. It brings up a in game MP3 player.

I have a problem however, when I add a directory or a song, then click play. It comes up in loads of red writing in the console saying it couldn't be found.

Do I need to put them in a special folder, or does this MP3 player even work?

Thanks,
Mutley.

put your songs in the sound folder of the game that worked for me i dont understand why it cant play from a different directory

idk but thats the only way i can get it to play songs

hmm...does anyone know how to remove a folder from that mp3 player?
without knowing, i added a folder outside of the cstrike folder (cstrike folder is the place where all mp3's should go right?) and none of the mp3's in that folder work when i click the play button.

any help?

The mp3 feature is new to me :| i usually just use WMP or Winamp lol ... suppose it's less CPU Usage right ?

Yes, this is new to me to, nice feature though, although it doesnt seem to work in Half Life Source. Any more tips? Any source @ steampowered.com or so where they say something about it?

It won't work for me when i type "mp3" in the console it doesn't regonize it.I tried in both HL2 and CSS.

Don't know what your problem is.

As for everyone else, put your music into your sound/music folder. I think thats what you do.

Then, type in "play NAMEOFSONG" in the console.
Have fun now

No that didn't work. Should my HL2 sound folder be empty because i haven't got anything in it apart from the mp3 i am trying to play.

Yes it should be empty and it is odd that it won't play the file :|

if you are playing CSS, then the mp3 files go into the cstrike\sound folder.

hmm...currently theres no such feature to remove directories\folders once they have been added to the mp3 player.
also, when playing CSS and using the mp3 player, the song restarts at the start of the next round. :|

hopefully Valve will work on these things...soon.
i'd like to use the mp3 player but as it is right now, i don't think i will.
