Valve will let us know when HL2 prepurchase starts.

Before every preload and patch, valve gave at least a one day warning saying ok this thursday will be a 4th phase preload. It didn't just show up one day. So stop with all the threads saying is it today and stop with all the polls. It's not going to be today. If it was tomorrow then valve would set a release date saying ok tomorrow will be the prepurchase for hl2 or thurs or frid. Thats how it is done in the real world of business. It isnt just going to pop up on steam without notice. So set your messages on steam to notify you of any upcoming games and you will be one of the first to know. Now lets all get back to the beta, half the servers are empty.

What are you talking about? For the past few preloads, there wasn't any notice before it began, just spikes on the status page. The only notice was AFTER it began.

right click on steam and hit news. There is an annoucement for things available or date when it goes available for dl. The past month valve missed one date for a preload and it turned out that it was changed to the next day. Other than that they do a good job of communicating. You think that the biggest awaited game ever will go on prepurchase status on steam without valve giving at least one day notice. I don't think so. It's called advertising. You don't just release that kind of news with no warning. I am saying that YOU WE US will all know when to expect to get css by prepurchasing hl2 from steam at least a day before it happens from a Valve rep.

Actually, there was no date set for that preload. It was just implied by a few people, looking at past instances, that it would come out that Monday.
