Valve's Marc Laidlaw features in a short piece in TIME magazine this month. It gives us an insight into the path he took from published novelist to Valve's in-house writer, and his views on telling the user a story through different mediums.

That's great, but when I first read this thread's title I thought he was going to be dominating the front cover... that's a bit more worthy of him!

Laidlaw can actually write, which is always a plus when someone's hired for a creative role ;)

If anything his work on HL will be just as great a legacy as his independant novels- if not more! I'm not sure if that's good or bad, mind...

The 37th Mandala Kicks ass!

It seems Time is actually taking gaming as seriously as many other forms of entertainment. It is painful for me to see games in the technology section of a magazine, newspaper, newssight, rather than in the entertainment section where it belongs. This will all change with the next generation of CEOs, who will have grown up to video game as well as movies, TV, and music.
