I find it facinateing and almost sexual that valve has failed to release any details as far as hl 2's multiplayer goes..... some rumors and cool ideas I have heard are

cs2.......riiiiight
tf2........shot down by the big man himself
same ol dm style (would kickass anyways)
dod2...heh
ricochet....mhm:dork:
revamped cs dod or tf w/good graphix (but mp driveables were announced soo i gues not)


any other rumors...... or cool ideas
 
its gonna have the same weapons and models and physics as HL2, like deathmatch, but then theyre gonna throw in a big twist to make it more exciting and fun :D
 
i like anything they could do.... i mean how can u go wrong? such a great engine
 
They have only stated they will do something cool and new with it I beleive (then again, no other game is like HL2, anything they do will be cool and new ;)).
But I think they know the mods are gonna beat any multiplay HL2 have. So I think we will just see a standard CTF/deathmatch/whatever there, but more of a hybrid between BF1942 vehicle fights and HL CTF/deatmatch/whatever.
Though it wouldnt be hard to add manipulator game modes (toss your opponent around, only weapons is the objects on the level :))
 
rumors are your wishes on what would be on the game, if so then don't call it that.
 
perhaps some sort of coop mode, something showcasing the AI perhaps?
 
Maybe they are going to do alot of large maps that are largely vehicle based.

Don't forget we only seen a jeep. What to say there aren't aircraft to fly aswell?

Lot's of suprises ahead I feel.
 
Yeah. The maps can be as big as in BF1942, there are more driveable vehicles than the buggy seen in the movie. I think there will be some kind of flyable vehicle...
 
I think I remember them mentioning that there will be no drivable 3-axis vehicles (flying ones) in the game (but that it would be an easy mod).
 
Who says there has to be sequels for HL2 to have great mods anyway? That's just nastolgia...

I hope they have a special DM mode where you only get Grav guns as weapons. Now that would be fun.
 
I'm not sure about the official retail multiplayer, but eventually there will probably be mods allowing everything already mentioned in this thread.
 
I think it's pretty much confirmed that the DoD development team will begin working with the Source engine after they complete and release the 1.1 patch.
