This is only confirming what we already knew or expected but Valve's fabled "Steam Box" (which as of yet has no official name) is going to run on Linux and we should be seeing it on the shelves within a year, Video Gaming Lens is saying. Their source is a German article at Golem.de which says Valve's Ben Krasnow confirmed these details at a conference. There's not much else to say here other than we're just as eager to find out more details of this project as you are and we'll be posting more info as it comes.

Launch Title(s). Please.

:bomb:

Look close at the box there is 2xgraphic card this means you can use SLI too :D
there is even USB,LAN,Audio,Mic...This must be a PC not a console with mix of Linux and Steam OS.

Let's not forget Dota 2 and all other Source games once Valve finishes porting them.

There are currently 40 Linux games of middling quality with only 10 which support controllers. That's not very encouraging.

I expect that once the market opens up some more developers will begin porting to linux.

Thanks Riom.

but I mean the launch title that everyone is thinking about. :cold:

edit - genuine gratitude and excitement gets downvoted. okay.jpg
