Vampire the Masquerade videos

It should go in the General Gaming - subforum. ;)

Is it just me or do these videos look about 110% worse than the HL2 videos?

Sadly DarkStar, it's not just you, hopefully tho, since this game's still about 10 months+ away it'll get improved.

It's hard to believe it's the same engine, the game looks a lot worse. I heard they did add a few things to the engine though, such as their own cloth physics and a dialogue system to support the RPG gameplay. I wonder if the physics system will be in this game as well, seeing as it's a modifed version of Havoc.

The recent preview in PC Gamer (U.S.) made it sound awesome... I'm gettin' the video now. :)

You crazy if you think that looks bad!

The movement is pretty choppy. And the graphics is like the beautiful yet plastic stuff from Max Payne II.

I don't really think it looks bad, just not nearly as good as a Source engine game should. For instance, the facial expressions and lip synch in the third video in no way compares to what they're doing with HL2. The enviroments also seem very bare, and under-detailed.

I guess that's why Valve is Valve though.

They're not exactly done with the game yet either. Who knows. It could use the polishing.

No, it's because valve has had lots and lots more time with HL2 than troika has had with bloodlines.

DARRR DARRR a source code game shouldn't look like that DARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
DERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well, according to Valve at least, all you have to do is plug in a .wav file and the lip-synch should mainly take care of itself. The lip-synch in that video looks like a cardboard box lid flapping open and shut compared to the HL2 stuff.

And what's with the DARR DARR nonsense? Are you, like, making fun of me or something? All I'm saying is that no matter how long each company has been working with the engine, one would think Troika would choose their most complete, polished sections of the game to show off in a video. To me it just doesn't look as good as HL2.

heh, take it easy, I was just a little shit faced.
I'm just saying valve has had a mammoth amount of time compared to troika. Maybe valve said that and lied? who knows, but I don't think troika are focusing that much on the beauty in the game, rather than the good rolelpaying gameplay.
