New shooter from Platinum, who are fast becoming one of my favourite developers. Think Gears of War, but fast and fluid and crazy.

Cheesy trailer:

You forget to mention the guy behind it is Shinji Mikami, the person who gave birth to the Resident Evil franchise!

Also PlatinumGames does indeed own, their most recent title(english release-date wise) comes out tomorrow, Infinite Space for the DS, a truly epic space-combat focused RPG!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Vanquish turns out!

By the way Warbie, you have a DS right? You getting Infinite Space?

yeah Bayonetta was an awesome game and I'm willing to try another new IP from them. very cool indeed

It's on my list. Perfect Dark first though

And, before Darkside starts strutting about and muttering about philistine gamers everywhere, God Hand. Add Viewtiful Joe, DMC, P.N. 03 and Killer 7 and we're good to go!

Yeah, mine too, sadly since I have no DS I'm just holding my thumbs it's compatible with one of my DS emulators!

I've been pondering buying a DS specifically for Infinite Space but it feels like a bit of a waste given I only ever travel very short distances to where I need to go since I live in the middle of the capital over here.

If the game proves to be incompatible with the emus I will probably force myself to buy a DS though, even though the DSi is almost 200 euro over here!

Oh yeah I saw this game, I heard that this game dosen't have multiplayer. Not saying it needs one but it's an action based shooter.

And also I think the guys helmet is upside down. >_<

Looks fancy though.

I only have one due to a long commute. Maybe wait untill the XL drops in price. It'll probably be the last DS and the dark brown model looks lush.

According to the Vanquish preview in Edge there's a boost move (probably 2nd screenshot) that lets you cover ground very quickly, smashing through enemy cover and launching into combos. Melee looks to play as a big a role as ranged. There's also a boosted (homing?) jump and an obligatory time slowing skill. I'm hoping we can combine high speed dashes into crunching combos, then slow motion shotgun blasts and explosions :) All the enemies are robots and big mechs - but creepy and oddly life like - so there should be plenty of sparks on contact and robot heads being knocked from shoulders!

Oops. I think I even read that thread.

Has me intrigued.
hopefully it takes itself a little more seriously than Bayonetta though (still love it)

Vanquish doesn't appeal to a single fiber of my being. Infinite Space on the other hand is a game I never heard of before this thread and is a no-brainer day one purchase for me. Thanks for the head's up Gargantou!
