Varia, a Free PC vertical shooter

Come on, no one else tried it out yet?? looks pretty rad to me!
 
Played a little. I appear to be even worse at Vertical shooters than Horizontal ones! Given a little more time, may have actual impressions to give.
 
Looks nice. At least one Ikaruga-inspired boss, it looks like.

did you try it on Easy?? my first time on easy I got to the 2nd stage, it is hard but fun
 
The game was frustrating at first, but then was rather fun in the second level. Overall, it's a good game.
 
Tyrian is the best scrolling vertical space shooter ever created and I refuse to play any other.
 
Vegeta. Carrot Ship. Enough said.
 
Ok, so I'm now consistently getting to the second stage on Normal. Generally good fun, great Geometry-wars style psuedo-retro graphics and pumping techno soundtrack. I expect I'll be dipping into this for a quick blast a lot for the next month or so.
 
I like how there are so many lives. Gives us losers a chance to get used to the game for a while before getting gameover'd. I also love how he even made varying difficulties. Hard is hard, but it sure makes normal much more manageable when you shift back down.

Level 2's boss is friggin' hard though. Can't beat it yet.
 
every time i play this i get a little bit farther than the last time which is awesome
