I'd be careful there Warbs. As you know, I've been a fan of both games from the beginning, and have been as anti-fanboy as you from the start. But I honestly have to say that after playing through both games twice, HL2 clearly kicks more ass. Plainly, HL2 is a more tightly focused, better designed game. When it comes right down to it HL2 is more immersive and at least tries to incorporate things that haven't ever been seen in an FPS before. HL2 uses "show don't tell" techniques of storytelling that are just simply more effective, intelligent and mature. From the wrtiting, to the tech, to the art direction HL2 can clearly be called the superior game.

That's just your opinion.

I find that Halo 2 does some things much better than HL2, and vice versa (no point listing them tho - there have been enough vs threads)

I'd have trouble choosing between them.
