I just finished listening to this album for the first time through, and I love it (despite my obvious bias ). Contraband opens with "Sucker Train Blues", and you can instantly tell that Slash, Duff and Matt haven't lost the chemistry and intencity they had in GNR. That said, Velvet Revolver isn't another GNR reborn. Scott Weiland brings a lot to the mic imo, and really complements the music.
My highlight tracks would have to be "Slither", "Dirty Little Thing", "Fall To Pieces", "You Got No Right", "Loving The Alien" and "Do It For The Kids".
The best solos (imo) are on "Slither", "Dirty Little Thing", "Headspace", and "You Got No Right" has something reminiscent of the outro of "Nighttrain" almost
Anyway, I know some people have been waiting for this album, so I say this to you: Run out and buy it, because I certainly wasn't dissappointed
