Vertical glass like the E3 movie.

Hi

I want to make some glass like the e3 demonstration of hl2.
Look the attachment file.

It this hard to make? Can somebody tell me how, or give me a link to site or something? ;(

What I think you do here is make a brush, and then Carve it using the tools in the menu. then you apply the texture you want on one of the sides, and a texture called "NODRAW" on the other.... 5 sides. If you don't do the NODRAW thing, then it'll create errors and your glass wont show at all.

Also, if you want the glass to shatter like in office, then you tie it to the "Func_Break_Surf" entity, or it's something like that. Ending in "Surf".

looks normal mapped (you getting at the texturing?).
Ummm... I havn't really played around much with normal mapping but I'm guessing it'd be part of hammer. Anyone?

look in the shadertext folder, that object is in there.
 
Ok, i will try that, The Dark Elf.

you could always just make it the regular way, probably wouldn't work how you want, depends how you want it (not DLing that file)
