How come whenever I turn on wait for vertical sync it CAN NOT go past 60 fps at all! I turn it off and my fps goes way past 60? Does anyone know why that is? Wait for vetical sync looks really good though when it's enabled I tell ya what.

When you turn of Vertical Sync (Vsync), this force the game to not exceed the refresh rate of the monitor. For example, if your monitor is set to a refresh rate of 60 hz, the game can only go to a maximum of 60 frames per second. You can either disable it, or set the refresh rate higher, like 85 hz for 85 fps max.
Vsync prevents "tearing" of the screen during gameplay where the image on screen doesn't seem lined up. If you get under 60 fps constantly, leave Vsync off for a performance boost.

Ok, what if I put my monitor to 160 hertz, and I have a ViewSonic UltraBrite A90f+ 19". Is that too high for my monitor? If it is, what should I set it as?

yes, that is probably too high. i would reccomend 85 hz, but getting your vid card to use that refresh rate ingame can be difficult. what kind of vid card do you have?

oh look there in the sig hehe 9800 pro huh.

in that case, you need to right click desktop, properties, settings tab, advanced, displays tab, click the bar above your monitor, and enable force refresh rate, and set it to 85 hz.

How do I enable force refresh rate? You mean enable the vertical sync? I put it as 85 hertz.

Ok, I have another question - Does It look better with 1024x768 with everything on high, aa 2x and af 4x rather than 1152x864 with everything on high, aa 2x and af 2x?

The higher the AF and AA the better it will look. My computer can handle:

1280x768 (Widescreen)
4xAA/16xAF

And I get about 40-60fps. Radeon 9800 Pro, 3Ghz.

Also, why don't you see for yourself? Your the one who has to see which looks better, not us.

Also, never use Vsync, in short, it sucks so don't use it. Ever.

However, the higher the refresh rate, the smoother the screen will look. To force a refresh rate, open Catalyst Control Center (which I assume you use? www.ati.com On the left side).

Do this:

Click Display Options on the left side (make sure your View is set on Advanced View) and under 3D Refresh Rate Override put it at 85Hz or another setting.

Be careful though and make sure your monitor can support it.

Can someone PLEASE tell me!?

DUDE give people time to respond. Calm down, collect your thoughts, and post.

As for "what looks better" -- you have to decide that for yourself. To me, it's not about visuals so much as smooth, higher FPS.

i dont get y those ppl just dont try out for themself what looks better or what settings are more convinient ...

:(
